Railway Services

DCT Gdansk container terminal has an on-site 2 track facility where containers can be handled to and from rail wagons. The facility has a 1.000 m long railway siding able to accommodate unusually long block trains without the need to split the train. The rail facility is connected to the Polish standard gauge rail network via the large sidings at the Northern Port of Gdansk which is established as the final statutory destination of the trains. The rail block trains provide scheduled deliveries to and from major inland distribution depots throughout Poland and neighbouring countries.

 

DCT Rail Terminal is open to discuss possibilities with all accredited rail operators and carriers. Currently two rail carriers: PKP Cargo and PCC Intermodal are signed up to use this facility and provide regular services as detailed below. The main operators in service with DCT are PCC Intermodal, PROCONT and SPEDCONT. Internal rail procedures are implemented in order to provide the most efficient service at the siding.
