How Online DCT Rail Request works

With the process of handling rail requests involving at least three companies, and generally becoming more complex within the market place, DCT look to provide its customers with a simpler and more streamlined way of working.

The steps below outlines the steps taken in how we process your request;

  1. You complete a DCT Online Rail Request, and press the send button.
  2. We check that you have given us all of the key information we need.
  3. We add your ‘complete’ request to our system.
  4. We send you an email to confirm your Request has been received.
  5. We send a copy of your request, with the security information removed, to your chosen rail company contact.
  6. We take your request and check that each container is clear, and in a ready state, to leave or enter the terminal - communicating with you any discrepancies we find.
  7. We assess and consider any comments or special instructions you have given us.
  8. We complete the Rail Request and schedule the works to be carried out.
  9. We send you an email to confirm the Request has been successfully processed.
